Terms of Service

By downloading or using Recap, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. The service

Recap is a desktop task tracker that helps you log daily work and generate standup summaries. It is provided by an individual developer ("we," "us," or "Recap").

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time. We'll do our best to give reasonable notice for significant changes.

2. Your account

You need an account to use Recap. You are responsible for keeping your magic link emails private and for all activity under your account. If you think your account has been compromised, email [email protected].

One account per person. Automated account creation is not allowed.

3. Acceptable use

You may use Recap for any lawful personal productivity purpose. You may not:

• Use the app to store or transmit illegal content
• Attempt to access other users' data
• Reverse-engineer the app or scrape the API
• Resell or redistribute the software without permission
• Use the app in a way that harms the service or other users

4. Free tier

The free tier is available indefinitely. Free accounts retain the last 14 days of task history — older tasks are deleted automatically by the rolling window.

5. Pro subscription

Pro is a recurring subscription billed monthly ($3.99/mo) or annually ($32/yr) through Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time from the billing portal in the app. Cancellation stops future charges; you keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for mid-period cancellations, but if something goes wrong on our end, email us and we'll sort it out.

We may change Pro pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Existing subscriptions continue at the old price until their next renewal after the notice period.

6. Trial period

New accounts receive a 14-day Pro trial. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial, the account returns to the free tier unless you subscribe.

7. Your data

Your tasks are yours. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we store and how to export or delete it. We will not use your task content for any purpose other than running the service.

8. Warranty disclaimer

Recap is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data will never be lost. Back up anything important.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recap's liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted in the app's changelog and reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continued use after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance.
