Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

One tool. One job. Open it and start — no setup, no learning curve.

Zero friction

Open and start in 2 seconds

No projects, folders, or setup wizard. Open Recap, type your first task, and you're running. As fast as a new Notepad file — with the structure Notepad can't give you.

Auto-rollover

Tasks that don't get done roll over tonight

Every night at midnight, anything you didn't check off moves to tomorrow's list. No manual copy-paste. No lost tasks. Nothing slips through.

Standup-ready

Your standup summary writes itself

Recap generates your standup from tasks you actually tracked — not from memory. Copy it in one click, or let it post to Slack, Teams, or Zapier automatically. Free for everyone.

Daily history

Every workday logged and searchable

Your completed tasks are saved with timestamps. Free users get the last 14 days. Pro keeps everything — last Tuesday, last month, last quarter.

Three steps. That's the whole product.

No onboarding wizard. No setup checklist. Open it and go.

  1. Add today's tasks

Type fast. No formatting required. Open Recap and start your day in under 60 seconds.

  2. Check tasks off as you go

Tap any task to mark it done. Recap timestamps every completion automatically.

  3. Walk into standup prepared

One click gives you a clean summary — or let Recap post it to Slack, Teams, or Zapier. No manual step, ever.

"Geekbot charges $2.50/user for Slack alone. Recap gives you Slack, Teams, and Zapier — free for everyone."

This isn't a feature. It's our position.

Common questions

Why is Slack integration free?

Because Slack, Teams, and Zapier are how you get value from Recap — not how we make money. Competitors like Geekbot charge $2.50/user/month for Slack alone. Recap gives all three integrations to every user, free forever. The only paid feature is unlimited history.

What happens when my 14-day history limit is reached?

On day 12, Recap warns you that your oldest entry will roll off in 2 days. On day 15, the oldest day is removed to make room for the new one. Pro users keep every day, forever — no expiry, no rolling window.

How is Recap different from Todoist or Notion?

Todoist and Notion are full project management systems — they require setup, structure, and ongoing maintenance. Recap is a daily-only tool. No projects, no labels, no hierarchy. Open it, type today's tasks, and close it. The scope is intentionally narrow.

What happens to tasks I don't finish?

They roll over to tomorrow's list automatically at midnight. You'll see them marked as carried over at the top of your list the next morning. Nothing disappears.

Is there a mobile app?

The web app is fully mobile-optimized. A native mobile app is on the roadmap.

What happens to my data if I downgrade from Pro?

Your full history stays intact. The rolling 14-day window takes effect again, but nothing is deleted immediately. Upgrade again and it picks up exactly where you left off.

Is Recap a free Notepad alternative for task tracking?

Yes. Recap is a free Notepad alternative built for daily task tracking. Like Notepad, you open it and start typing immediately with no setup. Unlike Notepad, tasks get checkboxes, incomplete tasks roll over at midnight automatically, and you get a searchable day-by-day history with a one-click standup summary.
